I officially started working at the Worthing Museum and Art Gallery today, which was really great. A lot more interesting and engaging than I first expected. In the morning I helped out with a workshop for children learning about the seaside.
Out came the Punch and Judy toys, the old swimsuits and the parasols. It was a great start to the day! I then put up the new exhibition posters and updated the internet with all the up and coming exhibitions. Laura (one of the curators of the museum) told me that some of the volunteers were allowed to help pick out artwork from the permanent collection to put on display over the stairs. I thought this would be a great honor and looked through the catalogue, dreaming of what paintings I'd pick. At the end of the day I went to the beach to picture a few more plaques to work on in the next few weeks, something to get me going. Hopefully Piero will join me in this response to the benches, he said the ideas were flowing. Would be really interesting to see someone from a more graphics background approach this project.
